Are you in the market for a midsize truck near Bourne, MA? Then, visit Copeland Chevrolet Hyannis to check out our full inventory of new vehicles. You can try out a brand-new 2026 Chevy Colorado, a powerful and rugged midsize truck that rivals full-size models in all-around capability. But is it the right truck for you? Here is how the Colorado compares to similar midsize pickups, like the Honda Ridgeline and Toyota Tacoma.
The Chevy Colorado comes standard with a 2.7-liter TurboMax™ I4 engine that rivals many V6 and even V8 engines with 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The Honda Ridgeline gets a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, while the Tacoma comes standard with a 2.4-liter turbo I4 that generates 228 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque. If you want a midsize truck in Barnstable, MA that comes standard with potent power, you can't beat the Colorado.
The new 2024 Chevy Colorado is available with a high-output 310-horsepower engine, with up to 430 pound-feet of torque, solid figures giving you plenty of room for towing, hauling, and dynamic daily driving in Massachusetts and the surrounding area. The latest Toyota Tacoma offers up to 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet, while the Honda Ridgeline delivers 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet. Both competitors are strong performers, but the Colorado gives you more to work with.
The Chevy Colorado boasts best-in-class towing ratings for midsize trucks, with a stout 7,700 pounds of maximum towing capacity. The Honda Ridgeline falls well short of the Colorado here, with a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. The Tacoma surpasses the Ridgeline, but it still tows more than a half-ton less than the Colorado can, with a cap of 6,500 pounds.
Of course, you need your truck to do more than pull trailers; you also want to be able to haul cargo in the bed. Once again, the Colorado delivers here with a best-in-class payload rating of 1,710 pounds. This rating just edges out the Tacoma's max payload limit of 1,705 pounds, and easily clears the Ridgeline and its rating of 1,583 pounds.
Do you love off-roading on trails near Dennis, MA? If so, the Colorado is an exciting option. The Colorado has two trims dedicated to off-roading, starting with the Trail Boss. This trim equips the Colorado with all-terrain tires, a two-inch suspension lift, a two-speed transfer case, and tow hooks. Stepping up to the ZR2 trim gets you a three-inch suspension lift, Multimatic DSSV dampers, rocker-panel rails, and mud-terrain tires.
The Honda Ridgeline and Toyota Tacoma both offer off-road trims, but none with the remarkable equipment sets available for the Colorado. On neither truck can you get a suspension with a three-inch lift or drive home with mud-terrain tires equipped.
An 11.3-inch touchscreen anchors the 2026 Colorado infotainment system, providing intuitive control over the truck's settings, navigation, audio, apps, and more. It is also a significantly larger touchscreen than the Honda Ridgeline and the Toyota Tacoma have. The Ridgeline comes standard with a nine-inch touchscreen, while the Tacoma features an eight-inch display.
